about

This EP is a companion to my Metamorphoses album. Most of the tracks are associated with contributions to the Quarantine Book Club that was the impetus behind the aforementioned album. Drifting (for Mila) was written as an elegy for my partner's cat. Song of the Sperm Whale was a response to the QBC's reading of Moby-Dick, and is entirely based on sperm whale clicks. Mrs Ramsay's Ghost is inspired by To The Lighthouse. Passing Streetlamps is a meditative track built on cello chords. The Dance of the Muses (for Earle) is from Metamorphoses, here in a live rendition. William Spengler plays cello on tracks 3 & 4.
